Stand-up Comedy on the River Thames at The Boat Show Comedy Club

For more than 25 years, The Boat Show Comedy Club has been bringing unforgettable nights of laughter to Londoners and visitors. You can find us in the stern of the Tattershall Castle – a 90-year-old boat moored right on the Thames, across from the London Eye and near Big Ben.

We pride ourselves on creating memorable nights out and have a reputation for exceptional customer service. Our lineups feature household TV names and the finest acts from the UK comedy circuit. It’s no surprise we have over 1000 5-star reviews.

We love helping people celebrate, so whether you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, work event, or any special occasion, The Boat Show offers a truly unique experience. Weekend shows also include an after-show nightclub, where you can dance the night away. Plus, with our delicious meal deal option, you can push the boat out without breaking the bank.

So join us for a special night in the heart of central London, and of course, a lot of laughs.

How do I get to The Boat Show Comedy Club?

Venue for The Boat Show Comedy Club –  The Tattershall Castle, Victoria Embankment, London SW1A 2HR..

The Tattershall Castle is a beautifully refurbished paddle steamer, permanently moored on the Embankment just opposite the London Eye. It’s a short 5-minute walk from Westminster and Embankment Tube stations with views over Big Ben and the London Eye.

The Tattershall Caste is permanently moored so does not travel down the river, although you may feel it gently bob now and then. The shows are below deck so are inside, and we have air-con or heating depending on the weather.

Tube – The nearest tubes are Westminster & Embankment, both about 5 minutes walk away.

Train – Charing Cross (350 yards from the station). Turn right out of the station and head down Villiers Street, through Embankment Station and over to the riverside. Turn right towards Westminster. We are just across the Hungerford foot bridge from Waterloo station ( about 7 mins walk)

What time should I arrive?

Tuesday – Doors 7.30pm, Show 8pm – 10.30pm

Friday – Door 7pm, Show 8pm -10.30pm

Saturday – Door 7pm, Show 8pm -10.30pm

Weekend tickets  include entry to the after-show nightclub from 11pm – 2am.

The Tattershall castle is open from 11am daily if you wish to enjoy some drinks and food before the show.

Advance booking recommended.

I’m coming to the comedy club, is there anywhere to eat?

Food is available before the show at the venue. We recommend contacting the venue directly in advance if you wish to have a sit-down meal with them before the show.

Alternatively you can order from their Bar Menu. In the warmer months, there is a fish & chip shop on deck serving traditional fish and chips. Please note that no hot food is allowed in the comedy club and we recommend arriving early if you wish to eat.

We offer a limited number of tickets which include a two-course meal at 6pm, followed by comedy and (if you’re still going!) the after-show nightclub.  These can be booked by selecting the Meal Deal option when buying tickets for your selected dates.

Do you accept group bookings at The Boat Show Comedy Club?

If you’re looking to entertain a large group, The Boat Show Comedy Club is a great choice and we’re a popular choice for work parties, birthdays and reunions. We are always happy to accommodate group bookings, but respectfully ask that groups follow the rules of the club as other guests do.

Bookings of 8 or more will be asked for a behaviour bond of £5 per person on arrival. They will also be asked to sign an agreement stating that the guests will not heckle, persistently talk during the acts or otherwise disturb the show.

You can read the agreement here: https://bit.ly/BoatBehaviourBond

We will return the behaviour bond at the end of the night and will only retain it if one or more of your party are asked to leave for breaking the rules of the agreement. In six years of doing this we have only had to keep two of these bonds, and it helps maintain a nice friendly atmosphere for the show.

Please inform us if you are booking a group of 20 or more, or a single sex party of 10 or more, so we can ensure that we can deliver a great evening for your group.

Do you have a dress code and guest behaviour

Dress code – We have a relaxed dress code, but ask guests not to wear fancy dress (including sashes and hats), workwear and sportswear (such as tracksuits bottoms and football shirts). Guests may not be admitted to the venue if they fail to follow these guidelines. Trainers and jeans are allowed.

How should I behave at a comedy club?

Guest behaviour – We want you to have a great time at The Boat Show Comedy Club. Come ready to have a great time and laugh your socks off. However, we do have a few rules to ensure that everyone has a great time with us.

During the show we ask guests to avoid talking whilst the acts are on stage. Heckling is not permitted. Please treat staff, other guests and comedians with respect. Filming and flash photography is not allowed. Guests who persistently break these rules will be asked to leave by security and will not be refunded.

Behaviour Bond PolicyTo help maintain the friendly atmosphere of our comedy club we ask groups of 8 or more to sign a behaviour bond at the start of the night. This bond states that the party agrees not to heckle the comedians, persistently talk during the acts, disturb the show or use foul or abusive language towards guests or staff. With this bond we ask for a cash deposit to be held during the show of £5 per person. We will only retain this if one or more of your party are asked to leave for breaking the agreement, otherwise it will be returned to you at the end of the show.

Is the venue accessible?

Unfortunately, the Tattershall Castle is a very old boat, there are 4 flights of stairs to access the venue and therefore it is not fully wheelchair accessible. There are no disabled toilets available.

We offer a free ticket for guests who require a carer, please contact us to arrange this. For any accessibility enquires please contact Jack on 07932 658895 or drop him an email here: jack@bluebookam.com.
